Michael H. Stone
Mike has extensive experience as a senior sports executive. From 1983 to 1990, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. During his tenure, the Rangers set single season attendance records four times, attaining the two million mark in both 1989 and 1990. Following his experience with the Rangers, Stone served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of the United Baseball League followed by a three-year stint as Executive Director of USA Boxing, the country’s sanctioning body for all amateur boxing. From May of 2002 until March of 2006, Stone served as Commissioner of the Northern League, professional baseball’s oldest and most successful independent league.
Mike also has significant experience in the world of business, having been Assistant to the CEO of the Western Company of North America, Chairman of the Board of American IronHorse Motorcycle Company, and President and CEO of Triad Technologies. Stone is a graduate of Albion College and holds Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan. As an undergraduate Stone earned seven varsity letters and was an All-Conference football player. He serve as a Captain in the Bio-Medical Corps of the United States Air Force from 1973-77. Mike and his wife, Ellen Ray, live in Mansfield, Texas and the couple has four children and three grandchildren. Both Mike and his wife are avid golfers and both enjoy travel and fine wines.
